Agricultural Production Assistant – New Government 100,000 Jobs
“Creating a Sri Lanka free from Poverty” is a principal concept in terms of the policy statement: “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendor” of His Excellency President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. For this purpose, the provision of permanent employments to those members in the low income earning families with minimum educational qualifications after giving them formal vocational training is a program on which His Excellency’s special attention is focused. By providing them with these jobs they will be made regular income earners and their families rescued from poverty and the skills of this labor force mobilized in building a country of prosperity. The preliminary recruitment work for providing 100,000 jobs will commence from 20th January 2020.
The job recipients identified based on a formal methodology by the Department of Multi-Purpose Development Task Force will be imparted a six month (06) job training. Applications are invited from Sri Lankan citizens who satisfy the following eligibility criteria for the provision of vocational training matching the job opportunities available in their residential areas out of those fields of training specified in this notification.
1. Qualifications
a. Should have the education qualifications below G.C.E Ordinary Level (Priority will be accorded to the applicants with minimum educational qualifications)
b. Should not be less than 18 years and more than 40 years of age on the closing date of applications (Applicants below 35 years of age will be accorded the first priority and the applicants aged between 35-40 will receive the second priority)
c. Should be an unemployed member of a family who is eligible for Samurdhi benefits but not Samurdhi recipients or
d. Should be an unemployed member of a family who is recipients of Samurdhi benefits or
e. Should be an unemployed member of a family with aged and ailing parents or disabled members
f. Should be a permanent resident of the area applied for
2. Selection for the training
2.1 Only one candidate from each family who satisfies the above mentioned qualifications will be considered
2.2 The relevant vocational training will be determined to take into account the employment opportunities available in areas in proximity to the villages where they are resident and the field of training applied for.
2.3 Training will be provided at the Training Centres in or close to their residential areas
2.4 They will be found placement on completion of successful training
3. Salaries and allowances
A monthly allowance of Rs.22, 500 will be paid during the continuous training period of six (06) months. Trainees will have the opportunity of being appointed to a government-approved preliminary non-technical (PL 1) post relevant to the field of training within their permanent residential area carrying a salary and allowances on successful completion of the training. They will be entitled to government pension rights on completion of ten (10) years of satisfactory continuous service.

An application prepared on the application form given in this notification may be obtained from the relevant Divisional Secretariat. Applications duly completed should be handed over to the Grama Niladhari of the relevant Grama Niladhari Division on or before the 15.02.2020
