Calling Applications for the Appointment of President’s Counsel

APPLICATIONS are called for the appointment of President’s Counsel in terms of Article 33(2)(e) of the Constitution.

The Attorneys-at-Law who have reached eminence in the legal profession and maintained high standards of conduct and professional rectitude are eligible to apply for the above appointment. Accordingly, the Attorneys-at-Law who satisfy the eligibility criteria specified in the guidelines published in the Gazette Extraordinary No. 2147/37 dated 29.10.2019

should send the duly completed applications on the form given below under registered cover to “Secretary to the President, Presidential Secretariat, Colombo 01” on or before 07.11.2019. The legend “Appointment of President’s Counsel” should be clearly written on the top left corner of the envelope containing the applications Any applications received after the said date will not be entertained and the Presidential Secretariat will not be held responsible for any misplaced or delayed applications.
