Job Description

The incumbent is responsible for perform assigned operational functions of the calibration laboratory of SriLankan Engineering by fulfilling the regulatory and organizational requirements and executing its functions in an efficient and timely manner to the satisfaction of its internal/external customers

Job Accountabilities

Perform calibrations / verification in a safe, timely and accurate manner by complying with laboratory policies and procedures, in order to meet ISO/IEC 17025 standard requirement.
Ensure proper handling and maintenance of user’s and laboratory’s equipment/tools in order to meet customer expectations and laboratory requirements
Identify and utilize appropriate measurement procedures to assure quality of test results are not compromised and to adapt equipment, standards and procedures to accomplish unique measurements
Ensure high level of cleanliness and excellent housekeeping practices in order to maintain required laboratory standards.
Ensure to maintain high level of personal and operational safety practices when executing tasks in working area to avoid personal injury or damage to equipment.
Maintain excellent communication skills and develop relationship with users to ensure user’s request are conveyed to the management and met in accordance with management’s direction.

Requirements

6 passes in GCE O/L including 4 Credits which include Mathematics and Science in one sitting and a Credit for English and 2 passes in GCE A/L for Mathematics & Physics and a Diploma, NVQ Level 5 programme in the fields of Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering, with two years of work experience.

6 passes in GCE O/L including 4 Credits which include Mathematics and Science in one sitting and a Credit for English and full professional qualification equivalent to NVQ level 5 in the fields of Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering with two years of work experience

Note: Qualification shall be awarded through an educational institute recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission of Sri Lanka

The upper age limit should be 40 years as at the closing date 22nd January 2024.

Employment will be offered on fixed term contract
