President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday announced that the government will soon provide employment opportunities to low-income families in order to ensure the social welfare of a people-centric economy.

Applications should be forwarded to the Grama Niladhari of his area before 2020-02-2015.

The Grama Niladhari should certify the information and submit it to the Divisional Secretary by 2020-02.

When the Grama Niladhari verifies the information, he can contact the Samurdhi Officers and other officers in the area as well as the clergy of the area and the public representative in charge of the division.

Confirmation of false information is subject to disciplinary action, including termination of employment.

The relevant information/application form from the Grama Niladhari should be completed by 2020-02-25.

Selection interviews will be held at Divisional Secretariats and other public places designated by Divisional Secretariats within 5 days from 2020-02-26.

Grama Niladhari Certificates and other documents should be submitted when applicants are interviewed.

The selected Applicants will be given the training appointment letter of the Multipurpose Development Task Force through the respective Divisional Secretary and Grama Niladhari.

Training begins on 2020-03-02. During the training period an allowance of Rs. 22,500 / – is paid.

Good trainees will be appointed as permanent pensionable employees with effect from 01.01.2020.

The government will create a unique labor pool to implement the project.

The labor pool, managed by professionals, is expected to transform the underprivileged and underprivileged into multi-skilled and multi-service providers, both government and non-government.
